G. Edward Oldfield

Ted Oldfield is a Partner at the firm and has been practising law since 1984. Ted has extensive experience in Commercial Litigation and Family Law, having over 30 of his cases being reported by Legal Reporting Services. Since early in his career, Ted has focused his practise on the legal needs of the Agricultural community.

Ted has appeared before all levels of Court in Ontario, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada. He is also active as counsel before specialized Tribunals in the agricultural industry, such as the Normal Farm Practice Protection Board, the Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Tribunal and a variety of other Agricultural and Municipal Tribunals. In addition to his work as a Lawyer, Ted chaired the Normal Farm Practices Protection Board for six years and presented numerous papers and lectures at conferences and educational programs, including those offered by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Currently, Ted is an acting Drainage referee for the Province of Ontario.

Lawrence K. Greaves

Lawrence is a Partner with the firm and has been practising law since 1990. Lawrence practices primarily in the area of Family Law, Matrimonial Litigation and Wills/Estates. Lawrence is able to provide a full range of legal services including real estate purchase and sales, child custody and access negotiations, Divorce Applications and property divisions.

While Lawrence’s experience allows him to attend court regularly in these areas, he is also trained and has his Level II Certificate in Collaborative Family Law and is a member of the Collaborative Family Law Panel. In addition, Lawrence has, for over 20 years, been on the Advisory Board of the Child and Parent Place, a supervised access project providing children a secure setting to be visited by their parents in the context of a matrimonial dispute.

Edward L D'Agostino

Ed D’Agostino is a Partner with the firm and has been practising Law since 1992. Ed practices strictly Civil Litigation, with a focus on Commercial matters, including Construction Liens, Shareholder disputes, Real Estate, Contracts and Collection matters. In addition, Ed has developed a specialized practice in Personal Injury Litigation. Ed works closely with the Region’s Premier Boutique Corporate Commercial Law firm, McCarter Grespan Beynon Weir LLP.

Ed’s professional and Educational background in Chemistry and Industry supplements his wealth of legal experience which enables him to recommend pragmatic solutions to his clients, and represents them in Court, if necessary.

Ed has a deep commitment to our community and has done considerable volunteer work related to cycling and children. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Kitchener-Waterloo Bilingual School and established the Victoria D'Agostino Children's Benefit Fund which recognizes Grade 6 students throughout the Region of Waterloo by awarding book prizes annually to those children who have made our community a better place. He is a past Chairman of the Region of Waterloo Cycling Advisory Committee and, for 20 years was the Race Director of Victoria's Duathlon, an annual run/cycle race.

Robert W. Scriven

Bob Scriven is a Partner with the firm and has been practising law since 2012.

Bob has represented clients before all levels of Court in Ontario. In addition, Bob has represented clients before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Tribunal and the Ontario Municipal Board.

Bob restricts his litigation practice to matters concerning agricultural and commercial matters, including corporate, family law, estate and employment matters. Bob also maintains a Real Estate, Wills and Estate practice.

Bob sits on the National Board of Directors for the Huntington Society of Canada and is a member of the Waterloo and Bruce Law Associations.

Matthew J. McMahon

Matt McMahon is an associate lawyer with a general practice focused primarily on civil litigation and dispute resolution.

Matt joined Oldfield, Greaves, D'Agostino & Scriven in 2018 after being called to the bar in 2017. Prior to joining the firm Matt gained extensive experience articling at a boutique litigation firm in Toronto. Matt has represented clients throughout Southern Ontario on a range of different matters. He has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, including Small Claims Court, The Ontario Court of Justice, including Provincial Offences Court, and various administrative tribunals, such as the Landlord-Tennant Board and the License Appeal Tribunal.

Matt is a proud graduate of the University of Saskatchewan College of Law and the University of Guelph.
